My name is Alex Jung, and I am the proud founder of Sunrise Child Development Center along with my husband, Mickey Jung. Stamford has been my home for more than twenty years, and it is where I’ve built both my family and my career. I was born and raised in Argentina, where my passion for education first took root. I trained as a kindergarten and elementary school teacher, and those early experiences shaped the way I see children, learning, and community.

When I moved to the United States, I continued my journey in early childhood education, beginning my work in childcare in 2012 with a corporate childcare organization. Over the years, I have had the privilege of caring for children from infancy through school age, and every stage has deepened my love for what I do.
My priority has always been, and will always be, the health, safety, and emotional well-being of every child in my care. I believe children thrive when they feel secure, respected, and encouraged to explore the world around them. At Sunrise, my goal is to create a warm, nurturing environment where children can grow confidently, develop independence, and discover joy in learning.
I am passionate about building strong relationships with families, communicating openly, and creating a true partnership in each child’s development. Sunrise Child Development Center is more than a childcare program; it is a community built on trust, compassion, and a genuine love for early childhood education.
Teaching Philosophy for Sunrise Child Development Center
I believe that every child deserves a warm, safe, and nurturing environment where they can grow at their own pace. My teaching philosophy is rooted in respect, patience, and the belief that children learn best through meaningful experiences, hands-on exploration, and positive relationships.
I see each child as a unique individual with their own strengths, interests, and ways of learning. My role is to guide, support, and encourage them as they discover the world around them. I focus on creating a classroom atmosphere where children feel confident, valued, and excited to learn.
Play is at the heart of my approach. Through play, children develop problem-solving skills, creativity, independence, and social-emotional awareness. design activities that spark curiosity, build foundational skills, and help children develop a lifelong love of learning.
Above all, I believe that health, safety, and emotional well-being are the foundation of early childhood education. When children feel secure and cared for, they are free to explore, grow, and thrive. I work closely with families to build strong partnerships, maintain open communication, and ensure that each child receives consistent support both at home and at school.
Social-Emocional Development
At Sunrise Child Development Center, I believe that social-emotional development is the foundation of every child's success-both in school and in life. Children learn best when they feel safe, understood, and connected, so I focus on creating an environment where every child feels valued and supported.
I help children build essential skills such as empathy, confidence, self-regulation, and problem-solving. These skills don't develop overnight; they grow through daily interactions, gentle guidance, and consistent routines. I model kindness, patience, and respect so children learn to express their feelings in healthy ways and build positive relationships with others.
Through play, conversation, and cooperative activities, children learn how to share, take turns, communicate their needs, and navigate challenges. I encourage them to use their words, make choices, and practice independence while knowing that l am always there to guide them.
My goal is to help each child develop a strong sense of self-knowing they are capable, loved, and important. When children feel emotionally secure, they are more willing to explore, take risks, and grow into confident learners.
